(May 8, 2022, Hong Kong) The election of the sixth chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ended on May 8, and John Lee Ka-chiu was elected with a high vote. As the Chairman of the Hong Kong Taxi Drivers Association and a member of the 6th Election Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Lin Xiaohui voted in favour of him.
"This is a vote of confidenece for John Lee and a vote of responsibility for the the future of Hong Kong. As a member of the electoral committee of grassroots associations, I am very happy that the candidate who participated in the nomination was elected with a high vote; this shows that John has not only won an extensive support from grassroots associations, but also has won extensive support from different sectors in society." Lin said.
After experiencing social movements and the impact of COVID-19 epidemic, Hong Kong citizens are eager to see a rebuilt vibrant, happy, open, united and peaceful Hong Kong. Vision is a direction and a future. Bryan Lin also stated: "As the representative of grassroots associations and the Hong Kong Taxi Drivers Association, in the future, I will always unite the majority of grassroots associations, especially more than 100,000 members of Hong Kong taxi practitioners and their families, and fully support the new Chief Executive.
