Dr Bryan Lin Xiaohui, JP, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC),  and Chairman of Realord Technology Company Limited and Chairman of The Sincere Company Limited, said in an interview with CCTV that President Xi’s important remarks are far-sighted and have greatly encouraged Hong Kong’s innovation and technology practitioners. Practice has fully demonstrated that “one country, two systems” provides Hong Kong with the most stable and favourable environment for the development of innovation and technology.

At present, the Hong Kong SAR’s first five-year plan is precisely aligned with the national 15th Five-Year Plan’s layout for scientific and technological innovation, truly building on Hong Kong’s strengths to serve the country’s needs. We will seize the opportunities of coordinated innovation and technology development in the Greater Bay Area, continue to deepen cooperation with the mainland in scientific research, the transformation of achievements, talent cultivation, and industry-academia-research integration, fully leverage Hong Kong’s strengths as an international research platform, and actively integrate into the national innovation system.

Standing at the new starting point of the approaching 30th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, we will stay true to our original aspiration in science and technology innovation, tackle challenges with courage, and proactively serve as a bridge for innovation and technology. We will support the country’s self-reliance and strength in science and technology, and contribute to Chinese-style modernisation with concrete results in technological innovation.
